| Perhaps the most surprising find of Ontario Fisherman's survey of Ontario bassin'was the "discovery" of a handful of tourism operators offering fly-in outpost camp bass-fishing packages. Although the camps, lakes, and quality of fishing vary widely, there was always lots of bass and, for most folks, that the # 1 criterion of a successful trip. Some are "numbers" lakes, others 2-species fisheries, and a few are trophy-class lakes with bass of 5 pounds and up. | ![]() |

Without running water or indoor washrooms, outpost camps are part of a natural progression in bass fishing vacations, one which begins with camping / canoeing trips and progresses to more luxurious, remote, fly-in lodges - the outpost somewhere between the two extremes. |
| At outpost camps, HK cabin accommodations, propane appliances (lights, stove, fridge), boats, motors, fuel make up the basic package. Guests bring their own food, outdoor gear, fishing tackle, personal effects and bedding. Ontario Fisherman pick: Stanton Air | ![]() Bass Fishing |
