Bill RiversFly-in Camps & Lodges |
| On larger lakes with outstanding fisheries, multiple-cabin camps have long been popular fly-in destinations. Such camps can accommodate from 20 to 75 anglers and offer a sense of fraternity and "community" that many folks enjoy, plenty of whom become "repeaters" year after year. |
| Housekeeping camps are usually managed by a resident couple who maintain the camp, work schedules, co-ordinate guides, supervise staff, cut wood, build, service the boats & motors, co-ordinate camp activities, shore lunch gatherings, etc., but seldom do they get a chance to fish. | ![]() |
![]() | Normally, housekeeping camps offer indoor plumbing, running water, showers or a shower building, bait, electricity generated on site (though not necessarily 24 hours a day), guiding and fish cleaning / freezing services. The camp may have an activity / recreational centre for rainy days and evening socializing. Many camps host a weekly fish fry which allows guests to share information about the fishing. |
